American actress Jamie Lynn Sigler was born on May 15, 1981, and is best known as Meadow Soprano in the popular HBO series, “The Sopranos.”

Jamie Lynn Sigler has Greek, Romanian and Cuban blood. Her acting and singing career started early in life, when she made her first performances at age seven. But it was when she was cast as the spoiled daughter of mob chief Tony Soprano in “The Sopranos” that her success became most evident.

Sigler’s singing talent also led her to produce a pop album in 2001 called “Here to Heaven” in which the single “Cry Baby” was featured. Her talents don’t end at acting and singing. In 2002, she co-wrote an autobiography – “Wise Girl: What I’ve Learned About Life, Love, and Loss”.
From 2002-2003, Sigler appeared on Broadway shows for five months, playing in “Beauty and the Beast”. She also has continued to do theater, appearing in “Cinderella” by Rogers and Hammerstein

Proclaiming herself to be a stickler for tradition, she took her husband’s family name, DiScala in July 2003 when she married him. A.D. DiScala was her agent. In 2005, however, the two decided to separate after two years of marriage; eventually Jamie-Lynn went back to being Jamie Lynn Sigler. Jamie-Lynn Sigler then took on the role of Hollywood Madam in the movie made for TV “Call Me: The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss” in 2004. That year, she also landed her first starring role in “Extreme Dating”, an independently-produced film.

Fans of Jamie-Lynn Sigler might be interested to know that while doing “The Sopranos” in the initial stages, she suffered from an eating disorder. That experience inspired her to become a spokesperson for the National Eating Disorders Association. She said that it was difficult for the first four months but finally came out with it and took on the spokesperson’s role. Unknown to many, she also suffered from Lyme Disease at age 19 while she was doing “Campfire Stories” in New Jersey and was paralyzed from the waist down.

Jamie-Lynn Sigler is fluent in Spanish, having learned it from her Cuban grandmother.
