Jamie Lynn Sigler has had some ups and downs

Jamie-Lynn Sigler said that her experience with an eating disorder led her to be a spokesperson for the National Eating Disorders Association, and encouraged everyone who knows someone with the same kind of illness to lend their support. She said that friends and family must tell the patient that they will always be there when needed.

Jamie-Lynn Sigler, successful actress in “The Sopranos” was born in Jericho, New Jersey on May 15, 1981. She is the third child of parents with Jewish-American, Greek and Cuban ancestry.

Sigler’s early career can be traced back to when she was three years old when her parents put her in dancing school. By age seven, she took up acting and singing lessons. Local theater was her first experience where she landed a number of roles. She hired an agent, hopped through Broadway and then was taken under the guidance of Lois Miller of Star Management.

It was when Sigler was going to high school that she was asked to take on the role of daughter of a mob boss in an HBO series that was being planned. It was probably the biggest break Jamie-Lynn has had so far. When the news was announced, no one really knew how the show would fare with public audiences. It turned out to be one of television’s best hits. Sigler’s contributions to making the show one of the best-running television shows are undeniable.

Sigler’s credits are numerous: “The Sopranos” as Meadow Soprano, “I Remember” as Angela, “It’s Under My Skin”, “Dark Ride Cathy”, “Lovewrecked Alexis”, “Call Me: The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss Heidi Fleiss”, “Extreme Dating” as Amy Baker, “Death of a Dynasty Sexy Woman 3”, “Campfire Stories” as Natalie, “Brooklyn State of Mind”, etc.

Sigler also wrote books: “Wise Girl”, and “The Sopranos Family Cookbook.” Her singing talent also led to the release of the album “Here To Heaven.”

Jamie-Lynn is single, but was once married to her agent, A.J. DiScala whom she married in 2003. The two divorced after two years of marriage.
